If it has been determined that the impressed current system is failing (e.g. not maintaining the above protection levels) the system must be analyzed by a certified corrosion expert for site corrosion potential and qualification of system functionality.

If it is determined that an impressed current system has become inoperative, and the period of non-operation does not exceed 120 days, then power must be restored to the system, and it must be inspected by a certified cathodic protection tester for system functionality.

If the impressed current protection system becomes damaged or inoperable, a certified corrosion expert must repair, survey and re-commission the system.
