Class A Certification

Introduction

Owners and operators must demonstrate that they meet the financial responsibility requirements specified in Comm 10, Subchapter VII relating to the operation of the underground storage tanks (USTs) that they own, and that are addressed in this training course.

Briefly, these include tanks used for the storage of used/waste oil, backup fuel for generators that operate on natural gas (NG) or liquified petroleum gas (LPG), fuel for emergency generators, and CERCLA-classified chemicals or hazardous liquids.

Financial responsibility is designed to provide coverage for corrective action, and compensating third-parties for bodily injury and property damage caused by accidental releases arising from the operation of those UST systems.
