A flexible connector is a component that is typically two (2) to three (3) feet in length. It is constructed of two threaded fittings assembled to opposite ends of a corrugated metal tube that is usually covered with a stainless steel wire mesh.
The flexible connector allows for instances where piping needs to be connected to the discharge port of an STP when they are not in alignment with one another. Because flexible connectors are constructed of metal they must have cathodic protection, or be isolated from contact with sub-surface soils.
Flexible connectors must be UL® rated for service in classified areas, compatible with the product stored in the tank, and have a COMM 10 Material Approval for use in UST systems within the state of Wisconsin.
